Download.exe is a valuable command utility that you can use to download any file or number of files by having the download location. This is really handy if you'd like to setup a script that will download all the files from an ftp server straight to a desired location via a quick batch operation. It's certainly useful to have in your toolbox just in case you need it. I imagine a good use for this would be for synchronizing environments, media, or perhaps creating a download script that puts all your useful utilities in to the windows path of a new machine ready for use.

If you've done an image search lately you might have noticed that Google has improved their image search significantly. Some of the new features added allow for refining your search results based on color, type, and size. It appears that they have done away with the "Gooooogle" type page results and opted for a simplified scroll and load approach seems easier and efficient to scan through. Some of these features were already available on Bing unbeknownst to me at the time. Bing may not be the search engine of choice but they are certainly adding some original ideas that even google can appreciate.

The HTC Evo has been released by Sprint and so far it's been shaking things up in the Android world. The Evo has proven to be a big hit for Sprint and a worthy opponent to rival the recent release of the iPhone 4. I have taken the plunge with Sprint and dropped my T-Mobile Mytouch for this upgrade and I am quite satisfied. The phone is VERY snappy and responsive, something the Mytouch lacked due to it's processor limitations. The screen is bright and colorful albeit not as good as the new iPhone 4's new screen but unless you had them bumped up against each other - you wouldn't notice.

The Bad:
I'm pretty easy to satisfy when it comes to smartphones but I have one gripe with the HTC Evo. For anyone who hasn't tested out this device; the HTC Evo has only 3 'true' buttons (Power, Vol Up/Down). The problem with this is not the lack of hard buttons but their locations. The only way to wake the phone up from standby is to hit the power button - that's normally not a problem and certainly understood; my problem is the fact that the button is not easily accessible. The power button is located on top of the device corner (think ipod headphone jack) and since the phone is LARGE - I find it quite difficult to keep hitting this button hundreds of times during the day. This difficulty further increases if you buy a casing around the phone which typically hinders pushing this button.

Overall, I am satisfied with my software upgrade but dissatisfied with the hardware design.

This is when I found "AndFTP", this lightweight app is exactly what I needed. This app is real handy for connecting to your FTP and downloading any files you'd like. This is especially helpful to get media files such as music or movies straight to your device while you are on the move and don't want to connect to a PC and wait for the transfer. Check it out - it's FREE.

Since it's release on November 10th, I felt compelled to write up a quick review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 due to it's overwhelming popularity. Consider this a mini review as I feel as though I have only scratched the surface of this atomic bomb that was dropped on the gaming community and I will only hit on a few points that stand out to me most.

Multiplayer is always a top priority of mine and this game delivers quality. I have dabbled a little bit into the new "Spec Ops" co-op with a buddy of mine but for the most part I have been playing death matches. Since I am not a hardcore player and do not plan on participating in any kind of clan organized gaming, I truly appreciate the developers adding in the Mercenary game type. When I have time to play multiplayer video games and especially something as aggressive as FPS'ers, the very last thing that I would want is to be pitted against a very organized clan who will inevitable wipe the floor with my face. Mercenary mode allows me to have a fighting chance against the opposing team by randomly matching players and balancing the teams out as evenly as possible. Additionally, xbox live parties and not allowed in Mercenary mode to allow for a random team experience.

The complex but not overwhelming reward system makes for a very addictive experience. The hardest part is finally calling it quits for the night because there's always that little carrot dangling just outside your reach and when you finally attain it - there's a juicer one right behind it.

I am very pleased with this game and would recommend anyone who hasn't bought it yet to do so immediately.

If you're like me and have a wordpress blog but do not have a neat little "favicon" for your blog yet - I will point you in the right direction. The process is very simple and can be done in a few minutes.

What is a favicon?
Wikipedia's definition - "A favicon (short for favorites icon), also known as a website icon, shortcut icon, url icon, or bookmark icon is a 16×16, 32×32 or 64×64 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage."

The purpose of a favicon is used to uniquely identify your website while browsing through bookmarks.

First, before we begin you will need to find an image that you would like to use for you favicon. I simply opened paint and used the letter "TG" and saved the image for a very basic favicon.

Once you have your image, you can use a generator to convert your image to the standard size and format needed for a favicon file. You can use any of generators out there on the web. I used the aptly named "Favicongenerator" which also includes the rest of the steps needed to apply your new favicon, I will list them here for convenience but please read my note at the bottom before proceeding.

Click "Click Here to Download Your Favicon!" above. After downloading, simply upload favicon.ico to your root directory.

Copy and paste the following code to the <head> section of your webpages:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" >

Note: I have found that my particular theme did not need any additional work except placing the favicon in my root directory as well as in the particular theme folder.
